Tom MW1EYP/P on Summit
We got to Wrexham on the A534, then followed the signs for Ruthin A525 (in hindsight, as I say, it would be M56, A483 down to the A525).

Left onto the A5104 and left again onto the A542. We parked at the large inviting looking Ponderosa Cafe on the A542, marked as a car park and telephone on OS Explorer 256 at SJ 192481.

From here we took the footpath from the back of  the cafe which soon joins the access road (a rough track for Land Rovers up to the transmitters on the summit). Then we walked up the access road,  quite a simple job.

We made it a bit harder by cutting the corner with the path marked on the map, but which was hardly a path as it was tough going through all the heather and bracken. I should really be heeding the advice given in "The Hillwalker's Manual" regarding walking through vegetation!
