I parked in a small lay-by opposite the entrance for Plas-y-nant on the A4085 near the North edge of Llyn Cwellyn. The new small guage train track runs along the river here and as I started the walk the train passed by with lots of passengers onboard.
Next to the lay-by the foot path is signposted and leads up past the waterfalls, small cottage of Pen y Gaer and on through a pine forrest.
Once though the forrest, style and brook I followed the stone wall around the base of Mynydd Mawr and took a path leading upwards to the summit.
Activators Note:
No antenna supports but several small encloses and a cairn made up of loose rock. I was able to support a fishing pole (no breeze) on top of the cairn. |
