| Brief report for Tor-y-Foel. Had only been activated once before. Parked at SO110188. It's a long drive around lanes with virtually no passing places, but results in only a 100m climb over 1km. A wide clear path leads to the summit. No danger of getting lost even in fog/mist. Very popular with walkers. 4 separate groups of up to 8 – and this is mid-week !! I usually see no-one, else just 4 or 5 army cadets or a lone farmer with a dog. At the summit 50 mins. 4 x 2m FM, 2 x 2m SSB. Tried 40m. Called CQ for 25 mins on freqs from 7.050 thru 7.070. Some BIG signals with lots of splatter about. Worked no-one on 40m. Equipment. FT-100 about 12W on 2m into SOTA beam. Up to 50W into inverted V on 40m 73's Mike de G(W)0WZY |
