Scarf: 6-1/2" x 60" excluding fringe

Materials
+ Worsted-weight yarn: 7 oz. light rose
+ Crochet hook size H or size to obtain gauge
Gauge
5 shells = 5-1/2"
4 pattern rows = 2-3/4"

Pattern Stitch
Shell: 5 dc in given sp.
Beg shell: Sl st in next sp, ch 3, 4 dc in same sp.
V-st: (dc, ch 3, dc) in given ch or st.

Hat

Rnd 1: Ch 4, sl st to join, ch 3, 15 dc in ring, join.

Rnd 2: Ch 4, *dc in next dc, ch 1 rep from * around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-4.

Rnd 3: Sl st in next sp, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, 3 dc in each sp around, join.

Rnd 4: Sl st in next st, (ch 6, dc in same st) sk 2 dc, *V-st in next dc, sk 2 dc, rep from * around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-6.

Rnd 5: Beg shell in next sp, shell in each sp around, join.

Rnd 6: Sl st in each of next 2 sts, (ch 6, dc in same st) sk 4 dc * V-st in next dc, sk 4 dc, rep from * around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-6.

Rnds 7-14: Rep rnds 5 and 6 alternatively.

Rnd 15: Rep rnd 5, fasten off.

Scarf

Row 1: Ch 29, V-st in 6th ch from hook, (sk 3 ch, V-st in next ch) 5 times, sk next 2 dc, dc in last ch, ch 3, turn.

Row 2: Shell in each V-st across, dc in last dc, ch 3, turn.

Row 3: V-st in center dc of each shell across, dc in last dc, ch 3, turn.

Rep rows 2 and 3 46 more times, fasten off.

Fringe
Attach 10 14" strands in each ch-3 sp at each end of scarf, trim evenly.
