Materials
+ Worsted-weight cotton yarn: 300 yds oxford (designer used Aunt Lydia’s Denim)
+ Crochet hook size G/6 or size needed to obtain gauge
+ Wooden Beads: 4 10mm

Gauge
1 pat rep = 2"; 5 pat rows = 2"

Pattern Stitch
Shell: 5 dc in given ch or sp.

Rnd 1: Ch 4, sl st to form ring, ch 3, 15 dc in ring, join. (16)

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in joining, 2 dc in each dc around, join. (32)

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in joining, dc in next dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, rep from 8 around, join. (48)

Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in joining, dc in each of next 2 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in each of next 2 dc, rep from * around, join, (64)

Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in joining, dc in each of next 3 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in each of next 3 dc, rep from * around, join.

Rnd 6: Working in back lp only, sc in each st around, join.

Rnd 7: Sc in joining, sc in each of next 2 sts, *sk 2 sc, shell in next sc, sk 2 sc, sc in each of next 3 sc, rep from * around ending sl st in beg sc.

Rnd 8: Ch 3, dc in each of next 2 sc, *ch 2, sc in 3rd dc of shell, ch 2, dc in each of next 3 sc, rep from * around ending sl st in beg ch 3.

Rnd 9: Sc in joining, sc in each of next 2 dc, *shell in next sc, sc in each of next 3 dc, rep from * around ending sl st in beg sc.

Rows 10-27: Rep rows 8 and 9 alternatively. Fasten off.

Drawstrings (make 2)

Ch 100. Lace through spaces of 24th row. With ends of each drawstring emerging from opposite sides of bag. At ends of each drawstring: lace bead up over both ends, slide bead up approx 6", tie two ends tog with overhand knot. Lace 2nd bead up both strings, tie second knot, tie 3rd knot above first bead.
