MATERIALS: *Worsted-weight yarn, 24 oz each A, B and C, crochet hooks sizes I, H and N.

Notes: For shell, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in given ch or sp.

Foundation Row 1: With I hook and A, ch 173, shell in 5th ch from hook, * ch 2, sk 4 ch, shell in next ch, rep from * across, sc in last ch changing to B, ch 1, turn. (34 shells)

Foundation Row 2: With B, sc in first sc, ch 5, sc around beg ch between shells, ch 5, rep from * across, end sc in sc, ch 1, turn.

Afghan Row 1: Sc in sc, shell in shell and around ch 5 of row below, * ch 2, shell in shell and around ch-5 sp of row below, rep from * across end sc in sc, change to C, ch 1, turn.

Rep row 1-6 31 more times, fasten off.

BORDER
Right-hand side: With H hook, join C with sl st in lower right corner, working around ends of rows into the sp between the shell of one color and the ch-5 sp of the next, work (sc, dc) in each sp along side edge, fasten off. Left-hand side: Join C with sl st in top left corner, complete as right-hand side.

FRINGE
For each Fringe, cut 3 strands of each color 18" long, fold in half. With wrong side facing insert N hook in sc, draw folded end through, pull the loose ends through the folded end. Repeat with a fringe in each sc aross top and bottom side, working around ch-5 sp or beginning ch. Trim evenly.
