GRANNY COASTER

Materials Needed:

Size 10 thread

Size 6 steel hook

Approx. size: 4"x4"

Wrap yarn around finger twice and slip off. This is your beginning ring.

RND 1: Ch 3, 2 dc in ring. Ch 3, (3dc in ring, ch 3) 3 times pulling the ring taught as you go. sl st in top of beg ch3. (you should have 4 groups of 3dc and 4 ch-3's)

RND 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout) turn, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in first ch 3 sp. Work the following 3 times *Ch 1, ( 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc)in next ch-3 sp.* Ch 1, join with sl st to top of ch 3.

RND 3: Ch 3 turn, 2 dc in first ch 1 sp, * ch 1, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp. Repeat from * 2 more times, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp. Ch 1, join with sl st in top of ch 3.

RND 4: Ch 3 turn, 2 dc in first ch-1 sp, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, *(3 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1) twice, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp. Repeat from * 2 more times, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, join with sl sti in top of ch 3.

RND 5: Ch 3 turn, 2 dc in first ch-1 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1,(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp, * (ch 1, 3 dc in next ch- 3 sp) 3 times,ch 1, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp. Repeat from * 2 more times, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, join with sl st in top of ch-3.

RND 6: Ch 3 turn, 2 dc in first ch-1 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1,(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp, * (ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp) 4 times,ch 1, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp. Repeat from * 2 more times, (ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp) twice, ch-1, join with sl st to top of ch 3.

RND 7: (WORK IN EACH ST AND SP) ch 1, turn, sc in same st and each of the next 12 sts , *3 sc in next ch-3 sp, sc in each of the next 23 sts, repeat from * 2 more times, 3 sc in next ch-3 sp, sc in next 10 sts, join with sl st in first sc.

RND 8: Sl st in next st, ch 3, 4 dc in same st, (sk next st, sc in next st,sk next st, 5 dc in next st) twice, sk next st, *sc in next st, sk next 2 sts, 7 dc in next st, sk next 2 sts, (sc in next st, sk next st, 5 dc in next st, sk next st) 5 times, repeat from * 2 more times, sc in next st, sk next 2 sts, 7 dc in next st, sk next 2 sts, (sc in next st, sk next st, 5 dc in next st, sk next st) twice, sk next st, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
