PUFF ME PRETTY DOILY

Materials Needed:

Lustersheen Cotton Thread

Size "D" Hook

Approx. size: 6" in dia

SPECIAL STITCHES:

Beg Puff Stitch -Ch 3, YO, insert hk in st indicated, YO, pull up lp which is approx. 1/2 inch, YO, insert hk in same st , YO, and pull up 1/2 inch lp, repeat once more. There should be 7 lps on hk; all lps made through one st in work. YO, pull lp through all 7 lps on hk. Chain 1 to close st.

Puff Stitch: YO, insert hk in st indicated, YO, pull up lp which is approx. 1/2 inch, YO, insert hk in same st , YO, and pull up 1/2 inch lp, repeat twice more. There should be 7 lps on hk; all lps made through one st in work. YO, pull lp through all 7 lps on hk. Chain 1 to close st.

Doily

Ch 4, sl st in 4th ch from hook, this makes your ring.

Rnd 1: beg puff st in ring, ch 2, (puff st, ch2) 4 times in ring. Join with sl st in top of first puff st. (5 puff sts)

Rnd 2: Sl st in first ch sp, (beg puff st, ch 2, puff st) in same sp, ch 2, (puffs st, ch2) twice in each ch sp around. Join with sl st to top of first puff st made. ( 10 puff sts made)

Rnd 3: Sl st in first ch sp, (beg puff st, ch 2, puff st) in same sp, ch 2, puff st in next ch sp, ch 2, * (puff st, ch 2, puff st) in next ch sp, ch 2, puff st in next ch sp. Repeat from * round. Join with sl st in top of first puff st made. (15 puff sts)

Rnd 4: Sl st in first ch sp, ( beg puff st, ch 2, puff st) in same sp, (ch 2 , puff st, in next ch sp,) twice, *(ch 2, puff puff st) twice in next ch sp, (ch 2, puff st in next ch sp) twice, Repeat from * around. Join with sl st in top of first puff st made. (20 puff sts)

Rnd 5: Sl st in first ch sp, (beg puff st, ch 2 puff st) in same sp, ch 2, puff st in next ch sp, * ch 2, (puff st, ch 2,puff st) in next ch sp, ch 2, puff st in next ch sp, Repeat from * around. Join with sl st in top of first puff st made. (30 puff sts)

Rnd 6. Sl st in first ch sp, ch 1 sc in same sp, chain 5, sc in next ch sp, * ch 5, (sc in next ch sp) twice, Repeat from * around. Join with sl st in first sc. (15 ch-5 lps)

Rnd 7: ch 1, sc in same st as joining, *10 dc in next ch-5 sp, sk next sc, sc in next sc, Repeat from *around, replacing the last sc with sl st in first sc. (150 dc)

Finish off and weave in ends.

For a variation to give it a slight ruffle look you can use the following for Rnds 6 & 7.

Rnd 6. Sl st in first ch sp, ch 1 sc in same sp chain 5, (sc in next ch sp, ch 5) around. Join with sl st in first sc. (30 ch-5 lps)

Rnd 7: Sl st in first ch sp, ch 3, 9 dc in same sp, sc in next sc, (10 dc in next ch-5 sp, sc in next) around, join with sl st.

Finish off and weave in ends.
