WINDOW VALANCE

Materials Needed:

WW yarn any color

Size "H" Hook

Approx. size: 36" W 10½ L

Make 2 of the top panels

Row 1: Ch 134, sc in second ch from hook and each chain across (133 sc)

Row 2-7: Ch 1 turn, sc in same sp as ch 1, sc in each st across. At the end of row 7 fasten off and weave in ends.

With the wrong sides facing, join both pieces together with a sl st in the first sc, (ch1, sc) in same sp as sl st, sc in each sc across. Fasten off and weave in ends. Repeat this for bottom seam of the panel

Row 8: Sl st into first sc of the bottom seam just made, ch 3 and work 3 dc in same sp, *sk 3 sts, work (1 sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next st*. Repeat * to * across to last 4 sts, sk next 3 sts, sc in last st, ch 3 and turn.

Row 9-19: 3dc into 1st sc, *(1 sc, ch 3, 3 dc) into ch 3 space, repeat from * to last st, 1 sc into last stitch, chain 3 and turn. At the end of Row 19 fasten off and weave in ends.

Edging: At the top of valance, join with sl st to first sc, Ch 1 and sc in same sp as sl stitch, *sk next st, 5 dc in next st, sk next st, sc in next st*. Repeat from * to *. Fasten off and weave in ends.
