THICK AND PUFFY DISH CLOTH

MATERIALS:

WW Cotton yarn

Crochet Hook Size H

Approx. Size: 8½ inches in dia.

SPECIAL STITCHES:

Slanted Puff Stitch (sl puff st) -Ch 3(counts as first dc), dc in first st, *[(yo, insert hook around post of dc just made, yo, draw up ½" long lp) 3 times, leaving all lps on hook], yo, insert hook in next dc, yo, draw lp through, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook (next dc made), yo, draw through all 8 lps on hook, ch 1; repeat from * across to last st. Repeat from [ to ] one more time, yo, draw through all 7 lps on hook, ch 1, join to top of beginning ch 3.

Double Stitch (dbl st) - Ch1, sc first 2 sts tog; insert hook in same st as last sc made, yo, draw lp through, insert hook in next unworked st, yo, draw lp through, yo, draw through all 3 lps on hook; dbl st around.

Wrap yarn around finger twice, slip off finger. This is your beginning ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (count as first dc).Work 11 dc in ring. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same sp as ch 3, 2 dc in each dc around. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. (24 dc)

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same sp as ch 3, dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st*. Repeat from * to * around. Join with sl stitch to top of beginning ch 3. (36 dc)

Rnd 4: Ch 3(counts as first dc), dc in first st, *[(yo, insert hook around post of dc just made, yo, draw up ½" long lp) 3 times, leaving all lps on hook], yo, insert hook in next dc, yo, draw lp through, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook (next dc made), yo, draw through all 8 lps on hook, ch 1; repeat from * across to last st. Repeat from [ to ] one more time, yo, draw through all 7 lps on hook, ch 1, join to top of beginning ch 3.

Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in same sp as ch 3, 2 dc in each stitch around. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3.

Rnd 6: Repeat Rnd 4

Rnd 7: Ch1, sc first 2 sts tog; insert hook in same st as last sc made, yo, draw lp through, insert hook in next unworked st, yo, draw lp through, yo, draw through all 3 lps on hook; dbl st around. Join with sl st to first sc.

Finish off and weave in ends.
