X STITCH DISH TOWEL
Materials:
Worsted weight cotton
Size "G" Hook
A cute button
Needle and thread
Difficulty: Easy
With size "G" hook, ch 53, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across.
Ch 2, turn. (52 sc)
Rnd 1: hdc in each sc, ch 2 turn (52 hdc)
Rnd 2: sk first hdc, hdc in next stitch, hdc in skipped stitch first X stitch made. *skip next st, hdc in next st, hdc in skipped st*, repeat until last hdc, hdc in last hdc. Ch 2, turn. ( 25 X's)
Rnd 3-5: Repeat Rnd 2
Rnd 6-30: hdc in each hdc, ch 2 turn (52 hdc)
Rnd 31-34: Repeat Rnd 2.
Rnd 35: hdc in each st across. Ch 1 turn.
Rnd 36: (To decrease-draw up a loop in each of the next two hdc, yo, pull through all three loops on hook) Work sc decrease across. Ch 1 turn. (26 sc)
Rnd 37-46: Decrease over the first 2 sc, sc in each st across until last 2 sc, decrease over last 2 sc. Ch 1, turn
Rnd 47-59: Sc in each sc across, ch 1 turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 60: This will be for the button hole: Sc in first sc, ch 4, skip next 4 sc, sc in last sc. Ch 1 turn.
Rnd 61: Sc in the first sc, sc in each of the next 4 chs, sc in last sc. Ch 1 turn
Rnd 62: Decrease over the first 2 sc, decrease over next 2 sc, decrease over last 2 sc. Ch 1 turn. (3 sc)
Edging
SC evenly around entire towel, working 3 sc in each corner.
Join with sl st to first sc of edging. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Fold over top of towel to mark and sew button.
