Kinza's Name | ||||||||||
A bird as beautiful as Kinza deserves an equally beautiful name. I've thought using Kinza for my other birds but it was not quite them... I am glad I kept it for this little budgie. There is a bit of a story behind the name as well. When I was a young girl my dog Teagan, a beautiful and loyal springer spaniel, had two litters of puppies. In the second litter (of 9) there was a pair of twins. They had exactly the same markings, we named them Kelly and Kinza after two sisters in a novel (by ?). We ended up keeping Kelly and oddly enough Kinza's owners changed Kinza's name to Kelly also. Well we couldn't have two twins with the same name so we changed (our) Kelly's name to Karleigh. It seems confusing and strange but they were very young and had not yet learned their names... so it worked out fine. Karleigh was an amazing dog. She had two times the heart and no brain. On Saturday March 25, 2006 Karleigh went to doggie heaven. She lived to be 15, and the last "puppy" of Teagan's litter. I miss her (and her mom) terribly but I am glad she is no longer in pain. Now when I see my newest member of the family, Kinza I will be reminded of a very important part of my life. Kelly and Kinza (the dog) became Karleigh and Kelly leaving the name Kinza open for the taking. :) |
