You stare at the slowing stallion, not saying anything. He sighs, abviously out of breath, and wanders to a stream, where he splashes in the water once, then takes a long drink. Finally he turns to face you, and a smile cracks across his face.
"Haram Salu, k'zarti. Yom Ember." He stamps a hoof idely, and his flaming tail sweeps behind him. Not saying anything, you take a step forward, but halt when he jumps away. He gives you a sheepish grin. "Sorry... Its just that..." He shrugs. "Most are frightened that they'll burn themselves. He nudges his head under your hand, before you can pull away. Startled, your hand hovers in his flaming mane. It doesn't burn you! All you can feel is a steady warmth surrounding your hand.
Finally pulling away, you ask about what he had been singing when you arrived. He nods, and explains. "Tarben foresaw that at my birth, or something along that line, I believe." He gives a casual shrug. "It's kind of confusing, and I don't think many understand it." You nod, it is confusing. The stallion continues to ask and answer questions, but finally, he nods in farewell, and canters across the meadow.
