part. 3...
Suddenly the white once again began to melt into her living room.
“Ana...” She echoed.

She opened her eyes. Clank clank clank. She was lying on her living room carpet in front
of the table where her piano should be.
“Ana?!” She called. “Ana, wait?! Where is it?! Don’t walk away!” Clank clank clank.

“Samantha?” Her mother appeared. “Who are you talking to?”
“Ana.... where is she?” She asked. Clank clank clank.
“Who’s Ana sweetheart?”
“What?” She asked staring at her mother with her eyes wide. Clank clank clank.
“Who’s Ana?”
“Your daughter! My sister!” She yelled. Clank clank clank.
“Sam, honey, you’re not making any sense... you don’t have a sister...” Her mother told
her, giving her a strange look. Clank clank clank. “What are you listening to?” She asked,
signaling to the C.D. player in her daughter’s hand.
“Beethoven.” She whispered. Clank clank clank.
“Beethoven?” Her mother looked surprised. “Since when do you listen to Beethoven?”
Clank clank clank.
Her mother stared at her. Clank clank clank.

“Are you all right?” Clank clank clank. Her mother asked.
Clank clank clank.
“Sam?” Clank Clank Clank.
CLANK CLANK CLANK.

Her surroundings once again faded into white.
“Sam?” She heard her mother again. “Honey wake up.”
“She’s unstable.” She heard a man’s voice.
“Are you going to move her to ICU?” Asked her mother.
“There’s no use ma’am. She won’t make it though the night.” Said the man. “And if she
does, she’ll stay in this state for who- knows- how- long.”
“Sam...” Her mother cried. “Sammy say something...”
“Do you know what happened to them?” The man asked.
“I have no idea.” Her mother whispered.
Beep beep beep.
Beep Beep Beep.
BEEP BEEP BEEP.
BEEP BEEP BEEP.

She opened her eyes again. Her mother was in front of her, just where she had been
before. The rain seemed to have stopped falling. And no one was speaking.
‘Wait’ She thought. ‘Where’s the railroad...’ She grew wide eyed.
She watched her mother make hand gestures at her and mouth words.
“Mom...?” She tried to say. But she heard not even an echo.
“Sweetie... are you all right? Say something? Sign something?” She watched, and
understood, as her mother signed to her.
‘Oh God.’ She thought. Her hands started moving before she could even command them.
She didn’t even understand what she was saying to her mother. Everything kept
disappearing. It was all so silent. There was no rain. There was no Beethoven. There was
nothing. No piano. No ana. No sound. No music.

She saw white again.
“There’s nothing.” She heard that man’s voice. “No brain activity. She’s completely in a
coma.”
“Sam...” Her mother’s voice came. “No... Sam.” Her mother began to panic. “You have
to do something!! Please!!”
“I’m sorry ma’am.” Said the man. “There’s nothing we can do. She’ll most likely arrest
soon... it’s beyond our control.”
“Sam...”
“I’m sorry.”
