beauty of fear
Tonight I bravely attempt the thought
Of tomorrow's path and plight.
I can’t help but see you resist my doubts.
And push me constantly to the light.

I know there are few things I can rely on.
Few things as sure as the daylight.
I know there are few things to be truly loved.
Few things I will ever finish right.

My blindness comes from searching.
For love’s truths I once knew.
My fears come from knowing.
I will find what’s lost through you.

I stay up all of the night.
Wishing to see you tomorrow.
I count the minutes and seconds.
Until I know you will end my sorrow.

And I imagine your arms around me,
And your words in my ears.
In that moment of pure concentration,
I see the beauty in such fears.
