And Goods
What does my guinea pig need in order to live?  Examples are like, what are their homes?
Were you planning on buying your goods for your guinea pig?  Well here are the items you need for it:
This is a picture of two cages of ours.  Ginny is in the left cage, and Blackie is in the right.  These cages help them live and survive for as long as they live.  Check out their goods on the left.
Items
Cage
You will need a cage about the size of the one shown in picture #1.  Depending on how big your guinea pig is, buy a cage that matches it's appropriate shape.  Cages will have bars at different angles, and each bar is closed up enough that a guinea pig could not pass through them even if they try.  At the top of each cage, there was an open and a close lid where you close the cage whenever you place your guinea pig into the cage.
A single cage should be measured by these measuremtns: 16 x 25 inches (40 cm x 80 cm) with a bedding pan that is 4-6 inches (10 - 15 cm) deep.
This is a picture of Ginny in his cage.  The droppings on the ground are easy to scoop up with a "scooper".  A scooper is something that helps scoop up things from the ground.
Guinea pigs usually enjoy the pine shavings on the bottom, because it is rather comfy for them.  This is a picture of Ginny in his "Sideways Pose".  Guinea Pigs love to sleep in these wonderful shelters!
Goods
Well, guinea pigs LOVE goods.  These goods help them to live, and have fun.  Now all you have to do is go to the store, and get these goodies for your guinea pig!  Just joking!  I will also include a check box beside each good so that you can check off everything you have!
#1: Pine Shavings
Becareful with these Shavings because some Ginnys are allergic!!!
Pine Shavings help create a wonderful smell instead of smelling poo all day!  It also helps make a comfortable bedding for your guinea pig.
You don't always have to leave your guinea pig unattended in a cage.  You can also try taking them outside.  They get much more exercise this way!
#2: Bowls and Food
Bowls help arrange the food neat and easy for the guinea pig to eat.  According to this picture, one bowl contains food (left) and the other contains water (Right).
Check out this nice picture of Missy in her cage,  Guinea Pigs always sleep in their cage, even if they have their mini homes (The straw house on the let) in their cage too.
These bowls are mostly made from glazed pottery, or porcelain.
You can use these bowls for anything you want, it just helps make life easier for you and your guinea pig!
#3: Water
Bottles are of many different shapes and sizes.  If your guinea pig is small, a small bottle is most recommended.  Check out these different kinds of bottles we supply!
This is the igloo house that Ginny sleeps in.  It is big enough for him, and he's comfortable in it.
All water bottles contain sipper tube.
Your guinea pig needs either a bowl or a bottle containing water inside in order to drink.  Bottles are most recommended because most guinea pigs are trained using these.  But from most of the stores that I have visited with guinea pigs, bowls have been used most because store owners try to train the guinea pig to drink from a bowl either hanging, or just simply placed on the ground.
This is the log house that Blackie sleeps in.  She likes it because it is easier for her to hide in it.
#4: Comb and Brush
Most recommended to long-haired guinea pigs.
This is the straw house that Missy sleeps in.  She has a little bed in it (check out the white little pillow inside the house).  It too is very comfortable for her.
There are many different kinds of brushed - but certain ones are specially-made for grooming on guinea pigs.  The way you would use these special tools, are by simply stroking the fur from top to bottom (Head to hind).  This will give a STRONG and SILKY fur that you can ever imagine.  It makes them clean, and gets rid of leftover fur (droppings).
#5: Bite-ons
Bite-ons are the material that your guinea pig needs to chew on in order to gain healthier and stronger teeth.
These materials are mostly like, chewable hard foods (Left picture).  These foods taste good to guinea pigs, so it will force them to go on and continue chewing.
If you purchased a cage, your guinea pig would also bite on the bars, which would make their teeth as healthy as ever!
Another example is a straw house, or straw (Right).  These shelters are mini homes for guinea pigs, and they are also edible.  Guinea pigs can enjoy living in here, and chewing in here.  You can also purchase other homes just like these, but are made out of different material.
This is the bag (It's much bigger) that we use to pass out the pine shavings into their cage.  It's pretty huge, and it's cheap too!
#6: Stones + Bricks
You can easily pick up a stone from outside, and place it in your guinea pig's cage (Or just buy the bricks at a nearby pet store).  These bricks/or stones help your guinea pig's nails to get stronger.  What you have to do, is scratch their nails on these stones (They will get used to this idea), and their nails will become as healthy as ever!
#7: Bedding
Some beddings are made out of wood, or fiber.
You can purchase a bedding anywhere. Make sure you don't buy Straw Beddings because...
This is it's full length (Above)
Megazorbs can be used for horses beddings, but also guinea pigs too! Interesting huh?
In the UK, there is a special bed that most people use, called: Medibed or Megazorb. It's very comfortable, and it absorbs nasty smells, and creates sweet ones. Pine Shavings are only sold in Canada, and some ginnys are allergic to it. So you have to watch out!
With Straw Beddings, the straw can poke in their eyes and cause serious damage. Also, if they eat the wool, it could get caught in their stomachs and wrap around something, and would result a bad death.
