Hi!.. OK.. so here goes... My name is Cindy... but I am known online as myhrmaid or theladymyhr. Yep, that is me to the right. Some say I have a nice smile *smiles sweetly*. I am glad you surfed by to get to know me better! Feel free to swim over to check out all my other wonderful pages!

I live in Stockton in the Great Central Valley of Northern California. We are right by the numerous waterways that comprise the San Joaquin/Sacramento River Delta area. Stockton is very centrally located, with the Pacific Ocean about 2 hours to the West and the Sierra Nevada mountains about 2 hours to the East.
Where do I like to go to relax?
I love to walk along the beaches of the North Coast of California, dipping my feet in the water, listening to the waves and collecting little shells and rocks along the way. Someday I am determined to live right by the ocean so I can indulge in this activity whenever I want. Wouldn't that be wonderful? *sighs*
The other place I really love is Calaveras Big Trees State Park up in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The redwood trees up there are magical and a walk through a grove of them is an amazing experience. You wouldn't believe the wonderful smell of the forrest there either. Wish I could be there now!

Favorite City
My favorite city in the world, San Francisco , is 80 miles to the West of Stockton, an easy 1 1/2 hour drive. This is a magical city, full of life, activity, good restaurants, with lots of beautiful sights and fantastic things to do. I visit whenever I can and love to take folks who are new to the City on my famous driving tour of the sites!
My other favorite cities are London, England and Russell in the Bay of Islands in New Zealand.
Favorite T.V. show
X-Files!!, my current "must see" T.V. show... It just gets better and better!... Drop by my Kiss David Duchovny page. (My Kiss DD page was listed in the July issue of Yahoo Internet Life magazine!!! Yahoo!!!)
The truth is out there!!!... (or should I say the Smooch is out there? *lol*)
My other favorite current T.V. shows are Felicity, Star Trek:Voyager and ER.
Some past favorites have included Beauty and the Beast, Twin Peaks, Northern Exposure and China Beach.
Science Fiction!!
I LOVE Science Fiction!! My mother was a big Sci Fi fan and had me watching movies like The Day the Earth Stood Still when I was just a little kid. When I was in Junior High School, I read nothing but Ray Bradbury stories. His Dandelion Wine and Martian Cronicles are still on my list of all time favorite books. In college, I took a Science Fiction Literature class with a teacher who was fantastic. She introduced me to so many great Sci Fi authors like Ursula K. LeGuin (Left Hand of Darkness) and Roger Zelazny (The Amber series). I still treasure the collection of books from that class.

Let's see... I went to Sonoma State University and received a degree in Chemistry (after starting out as an Art major.. go figure *laughs*). I work as a Lab Technician at a company that does custom seed enhancements (??... Confused?? Ask me about it.)
I volunteer my time with the Girl Scouts, which I find very rewarding. I am the leader of my niece's troop and in 1998 I won a special award for all the work I have done for the Tierra del Oro Girl Scout Council. (I am very proud of that accomplishment!)

I travel whenever I get the chance. I have a good friend in London who I have visited many times. I have also traveled to Germany (1987) and New Zealand (1995), Ireland and France (1999). Mostly, I travel around the U.S. going to Beauty and the Beast cons (at least one a year for the last 7 years!) and visiting various friends. Lots of fun!

I also like to read Murder Mysteries (see my list of favorite authors), work on crafts and watch T.V. when I find time. But, spare time seems to be a rare commodity since I got my new computer in September of 1996. Hmmmmmm... wonder why?... *chuckles*
