Mynkxoo originated when Paul Stevenson and Jonathan Young were playing in a high school band called Stone Groove. They were allright I guess, played a few gigs in town. I think their tunes were cool, but it kinda fizzled. Nathan was always around but just as a friend. He had really cool taste in music though, and really liked what the boys were doing. I say really too much. When Stone Groove went kaput, Paul and Jon (sans ringo) kept jammin out and looking for a different niche. Paul made some serious out there riffs and Jon developed his own, very unique style of drumming. Nathan eventually said, "screw this, I wanna play too!!" So he bought a Djembe (or maybe it was a gift) and was really(damn, I said it again) good after not too long. Dat boys got rhythm fo sho (I think it comes from his Dad's side of the famly).
So on they went jammin once a week at Charts in Burnaby, British Columbia, (that's in Canada, for you yanks) with 1 guitar and 2 drummers. Some people thought that they just got together and drank (beer or gin and juice) and smoked (cigars of course) ((no inhaling)) and talked about women. But those people suck and they're only half right. (they also talked about other things like poo, beer, boobs(different than women), and the benefits/downfalls of a social-democratic economic society)
Then this guy, Lowell, was working with Paul, and they got talkin' about music. Lowell was new in town and just wanted to jam, so Paul said he could come and throw some bottom end if he wanted to play bass. So that's how Mynkxoo came to be. (now they rule)
The Members of the band:
Paul (d) Stevenson: Paul plays guitar pretty good. He also teaches people how to fly planes when he's not playing hockey or picking up hookers on hastings.
Jonathan Young: John has played drums since he was little. He's all like spiritual about the whole drumming / music thing. He's cool. In this pic hes playing a conga, but usually he plays his drum kit, which is also cool because it has a burro pinata inside the big one.
Lowell Monagle: Lowell is the only member that didn't go to school together with the rest of the band. He's from Alberta or the Okanagan, we're not too sure. He has awful taste in music. You should see his cd (and porn) collection. he used to do things like theatre and crap. If mynkxoo does anything cheesy, it was probably Lowell's fault. But, i hear he's amazing in bed.
Nathan Collins: Nathan plays the djembe. What the heck is a djembe? I can't even spell that word!! Anyway, everyone who meets Nate thinks he's gay. I sure hope they're right!! *sigh*
