Basses Island



We leave Kumuta on Monday and sail for the uninhabited Basses Islands, arriving by 3pm. The wind starts out from the south but gradually moves round to the south-east during the day, allowing us to complete the sail without tacking. It’s another beautiful anchorage, surrounded by reefs, bommies and small uninhabited islands, and this time we catch a fish.

However, the following afternoon, after spending the morning snorkeling and exploring the area, the peace is shattered by the arrival of Margarittaville and Hans’ mate Paul and his wife Jenny.....
