To start Letter Creator when Incredimail is running, right click your mouse over the IM icon in the right-hand toolbar to get the popup menu, then select Letter Creator.

Another way, as I have, is to have a shortcut directly to it on my desktop.  The program is in the folder "C:\Program Files\IncrediMail\bin\ImLc.exe".  Open Exporer to get there, then drag the ImLc.exe icon to your desktop and it will make a shortcut for you.

You should now be looking at the Letter Creator screen, with this control panel on the left:-
We'll begin by looking at the bits you'll be using most.

The Body options (1) is the first tab.
This allows you to set the background image and / or colour.

The Header options (2) allow you to place an image or coloured bar at the top of the letter.

The same applies to the next three options -  Footer, Left and Right (3,4,5).

"3D Effects" (6) lets you choose how your email arrives, with the special effects such as page turning, shredding.

The last option, Finish (7) allows you to save the letter contents (Save Project) and add your letter to Incredimail so that you can use it when you write emails.

Ok, to business!  You can choose your own images or download the ZIPped file of the images used in the tutorial by clicking here.
Beginning with the Body, lets place a background image in.  Ideally this image should be faded, and have few colours in it so that you can see text easily.
Clicking on the "Image" button allows you to get a file from your computer and if it is smaller than the display area, it will place the image top left of the letter part of the screen, as below:-
To fill the screen with the image, select the "Tile" option, and it should now look like this:-
There are options to place the background image to left, right, centre etc - if the image is tiled it will align the whole pattern.

Below the image options are the text options.  You can change these as you would in other applications, with one added extra - the "Sample" tool.  If you click on this, the cursor changes to the eyedropper icon, and you can place it over any colour visible on your screen, then click to set the text colour.

This tool is available for all image/colour settings - Body, Header, Footer, Left and Right.
