Road Diary |

When I first started out I kept a diary of some of the places I played. Here's a few of the excerpts... |

I've lost touch with a lot of the people I met along the Mythical, but Walter and Hillie are still good friends. |

This one was a barroom gig. I rocked. There was some guy sitting at the bar and he asked me during my break, a real sourpuss he was, too, looked like he had a toothache and maybe a rock in his shoe, too, and he asked me if I was famous. " Are you famous?" I remember I laughed, and I said something like "No, I'm the most unfamous guy you'll ever meet." |

These entries are just dates, without years, so it's hard to tell offhand if this is '95 or '96. But I remember walking into this bar and asking some guy where the cheapest rooms in town were. He said "Right here." And then he looked at me and said, "Army brat." I said how did you know, and he said he can always tell an army brat because they can walk up to any complete stranger and start a conversation. |

Fernie was a good Mythical town. Maybe it will be again. |
