The Inside Story
A SHORT FILM ABOUT SELWYN PIETERS

Toronto lawyer Selwyn Pieters will be the subject of a short National Film Board documentary to be aired on CBC Newsworld on April 20 at 10 p.m. The short Selwyn, by Bryan Friedman, is billed as “a story of one determined young man who fought the law, and won.”

Selwyn is one of four shorts in the Momentum series, created by the NFB to support emerging filmmakers and promote cultural diversity. The theme for this year’s Momentum is human rights.

The other three short docs are Sanctuary, about a man from Guatemala seeking sanctuary in a Toronto church to avoid deportation; Glove Story, a love story about loss and memory; and Smudge about native peoples’ places of worship.
