Benjamin Richardson, was born about 1775 was the son of Sarah Mizell and Benjamin Richardson. He died in 1849 in Jasper County, Texas and is buried there in Jasper County. Sometime around 1802 Benjamin married his first wife Nancy Hendrickson. His second wife was Rebecca Pool.
He was in “Captian Elisha Harrell’s Mounted Detachment of Gun Men acting as spies” during the War of 1812 and in the 12th and 13th Consolidated Regiments of the Louisiana Militia.
Benjamin emigrated to Texas in 1830 and was granted a First Class headright in Jasper County, Texas. On December 2, 1835 he had an “unfinished title” in Zavalla’s Colony with a “wife and eight children”.
At a place that eventually beared his name, Richardson’s Bluff, Benjamin built a ferry and transported people and their possessions across the river.
He was a Jasper County, Texas
Justice Of The Peace in 1843.2
Felix Richardson entrance certificate into Texas indicated he was a US citizen “with a wife and three children” and that he had “unfinished business Vehlein’s Colony 29 April 1835. 2
Henry P. Richardson married Mary McClure 19 October 1848. 2
James W. Richardson received a third class headright # 565 and emigrated to Texas as a single man in July of 1839. 2
Thomas Richardson was listed as his agent for him on the 1845 Tax List of Nacogdoches County, Texas. He received Headright # 351 and his old certificate # 5 was issued on June 7, 1841 in San Augustine County, Texas. 2
Charles S. Taylor Land Grant dated November 28, 1835 for 1 League and 1 labor of land in an unstated location. 2
He received headright # 350. Old certificate # 4 issued on June 7, 1841 in San Augustine County, Texas. He is also listed on the 1845 Tax List of Nacogdoches County, Texas. 2
His entrance
certificate into Texas is dated 1835 and listed him as a single man. Power of attorney dated 13 October 1835;
deed dated December 12, 1836. 2
