Character Creation Guidelines |
THESE RULES APPLY TO SABBAT CHARACTERS ONLY! 1. New Chars approved must be no lower than 8th gen! 2. Characters must be REALISTIC. No out of clan disciplines may be taken. 3. No excessive freebies please. You are limited to 30 at Character Creation. If you wish to have more, then follow the AGE background rules provided here. Age is restricted to no more than 1 dots. Age 1 for #NM - 50-100 years, 30 freebies, -1 humanity 4. All chars who would cause alarm to kine due to appearance must wear some form of clothing to hide it or Mask of 1000 Faces. 5. Lupines, changing breeds, Hunters (HTR), KoE, Changelings, Mages, and Cammies are not permitted for play at the moment! 6. We are accepting Only Sabbat Clans (Lasombra, Tzimisce/Koldun, Antitribus) Independants at present and Mortal Characters. 7. To begin Making a Character you must first have the Character template, you may recieve this by asking for the generator or text based sheet. Once open at the top it says "Player:", "Character Name" and so on and so forth. Player is Your name or a facsimilie thereof, as this is an online channel you may use a Nick or Handle there if you so desire. Character Name is what you wish to name your char. Chronicle just put NM, as that is where this character is being played. Now the Hard Part comes when you reach Nature and Demeanour, Nature is what your char is really like, Demeanour is what he appears like to others. Choose two Archetypes as your nature and demeanour. Your generation will not be listed for now, that is fine. If you wish to change it we shall in a moment using dots in the Generation Background. Your haven is where your character sleeps, choose somewhere appropriate. Your Concept is what you have in mind for this character, is your Toreador Anti a Traitor to his Clan? Is your Nos Anti an incurable Art Thief? 8. We now drop down to the Attributes Section. You have 7/5/3 dots to place, with 7 being your primary area of expertise, 5 your secondary, and so on. When that is done split the Dots between the three choices. However, you may pool your dots and distribute them where you want them, instead of broken off you add the dots together, to come up with 15 and put the 15 dots whereever. No trait total can be more than 4. 9. Now comes the Abilities, these are things your Character knew in life and some he has learned in unlife. Again you are assigned dots this time 13/9/5 for Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary to Choose between Talents, Skills, and Knowledges. Now split the dots between the abilities that best describe your charcter. However you can also pool your points here as well. No trait can total more than 4. **A Note on Minmaxing. Do not just choose 4 in brawl, 4 in Dodge, 4 in melee, without things such as alertness, or Drive, or things such as Stealth. your charcater will not survive long. Sure he will be a combat machine, but one that couldnt distinguish between a butterfly and a Lupine** 10. We move now to Disciplines, you are assigned 4 dots to Seperate between your 3 In Clan Disciplines. You May not Take an out of Clan Discipline. Now Place your dots between your existing 3 Clan Disciplines in a manner that best fits your Character. No trait can total more than 4. 11. We are now ready to Proceed to the backgrounds Section of the Character Sheet. You are Given 0 dots to Split between your Backgrounds. It is here, if you wish to, that you buy up your generation. If your Character is a 9th generation Giovanni, then you type in Generation on the Backgrounds area, and Place 4 Dots of freebies on that section, this will drop your Generation (Note: If your char was Embraced by a lower Generation Char already in Play Then buy the Generation Background down to the Appropriate level at no extra cost). As for Equipment, no Weapons or Equipment may be bought without the Resources Background, or the Contacts background. 12. Your Virtues, this area determines how Moral your Character is. Vampires struggle with themselves in a world that imitates life. They are no longer mortal and no longer have the self control that Mortals do. You are assigned 5 dots to split between Conscience, Self Control, and Courage. Place these as they best Suit your Character. This will determine your Humanity and Willpower Scores. Paths of Enlightenment will be in place of Humanity and some change your virtue titles. Be sure to check that when you choose one. As well, if one of your virtues changes because of the Path, you don't get the free dot in it that you normally would. 13. The Merits and Flaws section denotes other traits your Char may possess, good and bad. Merits are bought using freebie Points each Merit has a listed cost. You are awarded 30 Freebies at Creation. However, each Flaw has a point listing how many extra freebies your may gain at Char Creation, both Caps on Merits and Flaws are at 7, you may not Have over 7 in Either. Now you may choose Merits and Flaws that suit your Character. 14. And we are in the Freebie Stage, go Through your sheet and mark other traits you wish to have, you cannot exceed 35 (or 37 if 7 pts in Flaws were taken with no merits, or The appropriate amount of freebies added by Age). When this is done, click save and send your sheet in for approval. |
