Mama's Care

A heart that knows the loving touch,
...when love is in demand...
Found a world of tenderness and care,
...in the touch of Mama's hand!
The hand that's placed on fevered brow,
...when the little one is down...
Whispered words of prayer's request,
...till relief is finally found!
Standing firm through grade-school years,
...a sight so real to us...
To see her standing on the porch,
...to meet the evening bus!
Then on to times and nights out I stayed,
...perhaps a bit too late...
We'd find her in that rocking chair,
...she'd say, 'I thought I'd wait!'
And even now...life's evening time,
...finds grand-kids in her care...
It's special still to all of us,
...to know that Mom is there!
