On This Thanksgiving Day
Yes, I'm thankful for that big bird,
...that sits there on that platter!
But...thinking of this world of ours,
...that bird just doesn't matter!
Remembering still...that 9-11,
...so many lost that day!
It seems that courage tested us all,
...but God has made a way!
And then this war that's going still,
...Afghanistan...then Irac!
Make our hearts cry out loud,
..."Lord, bring our soldiers back!"
For first they were...our boys and girls,
...they fight with hearts so able!
They shared in past Thanksgiving meals,
...sitting 'round our tables!
So, yes we're thankful for God's grace,
...and blessings we have known!
For safely guiding in dangers stead,
...each time He brings some home!
But, let us too...from hearts of love,
...bow our heads to pray!
God Bless those loved ones missing still,
...on this Thanksgiving Day!
