A Day For Giving Thanks
Thanksgiving Day...it's time you say,
...for turkey, and the trimming!
By the kitchen smell...we all can tell,
...the cooking pots are brimmimg!
There's pie galore...and so much more,
...cranberries in their sauce!
Though we have found...good things abound,
...I fear there's still a loss!
We set aside...and sometimes hide,
...the reason for this day!
Get wrapped up in...the food again,
...reality slips away!
But just one time...perhaps we'll find,
...there's so much more to see!
We're really blessed...by what is best,
...God's Grace for you and me!
Our children all...both big and small,
...grandchildren...what a joy!
A land that's free...God's plan, you see,
...that none shall so destroy!
So, eat your fill...but if you will,
...let's show some heartfelt care!
And on this day...let's humbly say,
...a special thankful prayer!
