Thanksgiving Growing Up
Grandma's in the kitchen,
...and I'm outside the door..
.
Aroma's dancing in the air,
...like every year before!
Seems that I can hardly wait,
...till time to sit and eat...
The way that cookin' fills this house,
...sure makes this day complete!
Oh, I know it's Thanksgiving,
...with lots I'm thankful for...
Not just a turkey and dressing made,
...oh no...there's plenty more!
I'm thankful for my family,
...for the raising that they've done...
And if there's kids who have been blessed,
...I know I'm surely one!
I'm thankful for my country,
...and for my freedom too...
For all the heroes who have fought,
...protecting me and you!
So, there...you see, I'm thankful,
...now please don't make me wait...
Would someone say the table-grace,
...so I can fill my plate!
