A Thanksgiving Prayer

Autumn shows unique colors, after a frost makes it’s call.
Thank you Lord, for each blessing you bestow upon us all
Harvest was good, in good health, we try to serve you well
Apple of love was in good abundance, the pies were swell
Night falls Lord, watch over us, we awaken to a new day
Kindness is received through our Lord in Numerous ways
See the sight of the sun before the clouds, sprinkle a rain
God’s gift to us is love, to take away the suffering and pain
I am the Lord, He said, come to me in worship and prayer
Violence of the children, as the victim, they cry in despair
Inspired by the words of the Bible, there is a life here after
November, trees are naked, the fallen snow brings laughter
Guests at dinner, let the spirit of our Lord, be present
Prayers can be heavenly worded, this thanksgiving event
Remember the pilgrim’s first thanksgiving dinner long ago
Appreciate our Lord in serenity and love shining below
Yesterday has passed, the youth is gone, age is worthwhile
End of time, life here on earth is only for a little while
Reverence to a rapture, a call to welcome us to a new home
Amen!
