THANKSGIVING SONNET

Thanksgiving is a time of thankfulness,

for family, friends and momma’s pumpkin pie.

This happy day I’d like to say, “God Bless,”

to each and every soul beneath God’s sky.

The pilgrims had a plentiful harvest,

with vegetables, fresh fruit and corn and fish.

The harvest of that time was a success.

They had all that their hearts could ever wish.

The Indians and pilgrims were at peace.

A day of thanks was held to honor this.

For years to come, their bounty did increase.

Thanksgiving had become a day of bliss.

“Happy Thanksgiving Day,” I’d like to say.

Much peace and love to all this turkey day!
