A Hazardous Migration
Once, there were pilgrims.
They boarded the Mayflower,
And they had a quest.
They were trying to
Escape the violations
Of their faith in Him.
There were foreigners.
They were leaving their homelands.
They wanted riches.
But there was peril.
Travelers became aware.
The risk was painful.
The North Atlantic;
It was totally painful!
They hoped to make it!
A number of them
Would be going away from
People they adored.
Although possibly
They would truly persevere,
Trees would surround them.
On the other hand,
They had confidence in Him!
And they were striving!
They were aiming to
Improve the community
For kids tomorrow!
All of this would prove
This hazardous migration
To have usefulness!

Author's Comments:
This poem's source of inspiration is
the introduction of the Peanuts
Special "This Is America, Charlie Brown:
The Mayflower Voyagers." I recorded this when it
was originally on television in
October of 1988. I never believed how
helpful this old videotape would be
to me down the road!
