An Indian came!
He was holding no weapons!
He was respectful.
He was Samoset.
He honored the immigrants,
And he knew English!
The ones from England
Could not believe what they heard!
He spoke their language!
Fishermen taught him,
With the help of fur traders!
They helped him excel!

his poem was inspired by the scene from "This Is America, Charlie
Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers" where Marcie, Linus, Charlie Brown,
and Peppermint Patty met Samoset for the first time. :)
