Hello, and welcome to Cacophony, my friendly little corner of the Internet. I'll be your hostess for today; I'm Shinigami, or Shini for short. Here, I host a (hopefully) bi-weekly mp3 rotation, or whenever I feel like switching things around. This is also assuming Geocities won't assfuck my bandwidth. Which it will. So, enough of this pointless stuff, on to the music!

THE MUSIC: I do JRock, Anime, or JPop mostly. Very little KRock, sometimes other random things I can find that happen to be Asian, such as JRap (officially the funniest thing ever), or even JEmo. I have a complete list for requests, and a few requests for myself, if anybody out there loves me. Go here for the full list.

LAST ROTATION:
August 20, 2004 (See all previous rotations)

LAST UPDATES: A thousand apologies for my extended inactivity. School picked up, and immediately after that I shipped out to Canada for a month. But I'm back in business now!

THE RULES (Because we've all got em):
1.
Download one at a time. I'm doing this for you, you know. There are musically-deprived kids in Malaysia.
2.
Do not direct link. Again, I'm doing this for you. This is rather obsolete, as I don't know if you can link to Briefcase anyway. But still, don't do it. Be nice to my fragile site.
3.
Support the artist. They're doing it for you too! Sure, their CDs can be quite over-the-top expensive if you don't live in Japan, but you owe it to them. They deserve the money.
4.
Delete the files after 24 hours. Yeah, like I'm going to try and enforce this one. But yeah, that's my plea. I can't do jack about it though. <shrug>
5.
Don't steal my graphics. I worked hard on them. Take the mp3s sure, that's the point, but don't nick my stuff. That just isn't cool.

THE DOWNLOADS:
I'm gunna do the whole Yahoo Briefcase deal for this one. The username is
nanashismp3s, and the password is jrockrocks. And please, please, please remember to sign out when you're done. If you abuse my Briefcase, I will shut the website down. But I trust you're a wonderful upstanding person and won't do that. Got it? Good!

THE SONGS:
Name: Malice Mizer - Ju Te Veux
Length: 4:36
Size: 4.21 MB
Description: I'm sure everyone already knows this song, but I'm putting it up anyway, because I danced to it at a talent show in April. It's perky-ish, and the beginning sort of sounds like something from 'Cats'. An all-around fun song.

Name: Ska Ska Club - Half The Man
Length: 1:53
Size: 1.61 MB
Description: Let's hear it for Japanese ska! This band is something like twelve people (ridiculous), and sings in English... Well, more like Engrish, but that's ok. Heavily influenced by ska giants such as Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish.

Name: Final Fantasy VIII - My Mind
Length: 3:10
Size: 1.79 MB
Description: Slow, relaxing version of 'Eyes On Me' that everyone's so familiar with. I believe it's from the various Laguna/Julia flashbacks you see during the game. Nice chill-out music, if you need to de-stress after a long day.

Name: Angel Sanctuary - Messiah
Length: 4:16
Size: 3.91 KB
Description: The song you hear during the opening credits of the 'Angel Sanctuary' OVA. Techno beat set under dark, tense strings and a wailing operatic voice. It almost brings to mind something Israeli... Or maybe that's just me.

Name: Malice Mizer - Illuminati
Length: 5:09
Size: 4.71 MB
Description: A second Malice Mizer? Oh yes. One of the most famous JRock songs out there, this was the other song I danced to at the abovementioned talent show. And we didn't make it sexual! If you're looking for some fun, go read the lyrics to this song.

ABOUT ME:
Well, m'name's Shinigami, and I've been watching Anime for six years (unless you count being obsessed with Totoro when I was five). Really got into Anime music a few years ago, and JRock even more recently. Music is pretty much my life, so one of my goals has become to spread the gospel of JRock. My favourite JRock bands are Malice Mizer and Dir En Grey; Anime soundtracks, Gundam Wing and Totoro; and singer, Gackt-sama. I love all genres of music, from all countries, but I'm particularly into metal, goth, alternative, ska, and of course, JRock. I live in the Northeastern US, and  attended Anime Boston this April as Rinoa from FFVIII (day one), lolita Mana (day two), and the Mad Hatter from 'Angel Sanctuary' (day three). Maybe you saw me? I also co-mod a Lovejournal community,
Loli Biatches. Check us out! ^_^
