Wow! I have in my posession the cane of JW! it is carved out of a hickory root, and is shaped in the perfect 7. I am sorry to say that it was taken by my father when he was at the funeral in 31. He was very young at the time. My uncle Jess Bates is re ated to the wright family. My father's fam. is from the Jenkins area. The story goes like this: Rueben Potter (he was married to Hulda Wright)was shot by his cousin during the Civil War while he was home checking on the family. Henry Clay Wright was born about Feb. 10, 1832, in N . He died July 19, 1888, Isanti County, MN. He married Charlotte P. Ives. They left NY in approximately 1866 and moved to Iowa, where they resided for four years (exact location unknown) before moving to Maple Ridge community in Isanti County, Minnesot .
