-Emergency, temporary, live-in foster parent for a highly functioning autistic girl, during which time I

was responsible for her daily living routine, errands, financial bookkeeping, rehabilitation programming

and daily communications with her teachers, and bi-weekly meetings with her waiver case manager and foster care case manager.

 

Developmental Respite/Rehabilitation Regional Program Manager

-Trained staff to provide respite and rehabilitative services to adults and children with a wide range

of developmental disabilities and I.Q.s including Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, as well as

other undiagnosed causes of mild to moderate mental retardation (MR).

-Developed goals and goal plans based upon the professional diagnosis and my own personal developmental assessment in all areas of development of each consumer.

-Had regular contact with officials from government agencies such as Child Protective Services (CPS), Police, and Sheriff’s departments, Community Action Program (CAP), Office of Family and Children (OFC).

-Attended custody court hearings for client legal advocacy and testified with case notes when needed.

-Taught daily life skills and basic academic concepts in various subject areas while caregiving in an on-site corporate daycare facility that was set up on the mothers’ office floor.

-Purchased developmentally appropriate activities and necessary nursery school supplies on a regular basis.

Temporary Baby Nurse/Nanny 8/98 to 4/99
