Berkeley, California is my home. I was introduced to wheat weaving in 1992 by fifth-generation straw artist Morgyn Owens-Celli of Long Beach, California. I am open to doing commissions, in addition to the wheat pieces that appear on this site. This photo was taken at the 2004 California State Fair where I won Best of Division for my Belarusian Crown. Also shown in background is the piece 'Mother and Child', which won a First Prize in the 'Free Standing Works' class. Click on this photo to see prize enlargements. I am a member of the National Association of Wheat Weavers and the California Wheat Weavers Guild. Both these groups have as their objective to promote the cultural history, the folk art, and the methods of wheat weaving and straw art. Click here to contact Nan. |
