Meatballs
Meatballs
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup fine dry breadcrumbs
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 onion, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
SAUCE:
- 1-1/2 cups chili sauce
- 1-1/4 cups grape jelly
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (or more to taste)
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions:
In bowl, mix ground beef with eggs, breadcrumbs, parsley, onion, salt, Worchestershire sauce and pepper. Roll into 1-inch balls.
In large saucepan, bring chili sauce, grape jelly, lemon juice, brown sugar and soy sauce to a boil.
Add meatballs, return to boil, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes until cooked through and glazed.
Makes about 40 balls.
