Bavarian Torte Pie
Crust:
- 1/2 cup margarine, softened
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Filling:
- 1 - 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Topping:
- 1 - 29 oz can of peaches (or pears), drained
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions:
To make Crust:
Beat margarine, sugar and vanilla. Gradually add flour and beat
mixture. Stir in pecans. Press mixture into and up 1 inch on sides of a 10" spring pan (9" pie pan.) Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
To make Filling:
Mix cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Pour mixture into lined pan.
To make Topping:
Combine peaches, sugar and cinnamon. Toss gently. Arrange
on cream cheese. Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees, then 25-30
minutes at 400 degrees. Cool in pan 20 minutes. Then remove
sides of pan. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Happy eating!
