This movie was incredible. As I understand it, its even the American dream. From what I've heard a bunch of kids at college made the movie and then somehow a distributor got a hold of it and it went huge!
It had every right to go huge too. I grew up near a large Amish community and this movie reminds me so much of my own years in high school and encounters with the world.
The premise of the movie, a geek in high school who isn't smart or brainy but just geeky is so true. How often do movies get that wrong and they give geeks an 'out' from there geekiness with knowledge. Example "Weird Science".
The script, the acting....SUPERB! The story was a little weak but I liked it that way because it even draws out the whole weirdness and mystery of a geeks life.
I don't want to give too much away because the surprise it partly what makes this such a funny movie but I do recommend it. I'm going to buy it. And I'm going to laugh at it, again, and again, and again, and again!
