    How's That Again?

The following is a short pronunciation guide designed to help folks with some of the names associated with Times of Tribulation. For more specific information regarding these names, please consult the setting information.
    Huumunn -- "hoo-mun"
    Syrynykk -- "sigh-rin-ick"
    Sabatt -- "sab-at"
    Axann -- "ay-zan"
    Derell -- "deh-rel"
    Imikk -- "eye-mick"
    Korogg -- "core-og"
    Oponn -- "oh-pon"
    Lurudd -- "lure-ud"
    Venexx -- "veh-nex"
    Makabb -- "mack-ab"
    Rydynn -- "rye-din"
    Sabattann -- "sab-at-tan"
    Kermaddikk -- "ker-mad-dick"
    Perdoxx -- "per-docks"
    gekki -- "gek-key"

Note: Most names and places in TOT follow the Syrynykkian language convention of doubling consonants at the end of the word. While first names are not always done in this fashion (especially amongst the Huumunn population), last names almost always follow this style. If the last name ends with a vowel, then the consonant preceding it is doubled.

    1. How do I get involved? -- You play in the AIM chatroom. The logs from each official session are used to generate this ever-living story. Not every bit of chat is used, however, nor is only chat from the room used.Sometimes, there are excellent posts in the message boards that are plugged into the storybook and sometimes players write specifically for the storybook. Anything used here is used only with permission from the writers. Playing in the chat room is implied permission by you to use your character's chat as part of the story.

    1. Who Owns My Words? -- You do. If you do not wish for the dialog or actions of your character to appear in the storybook, inform the host of the official session of that in the room at the time of the session. The sessions are logged and if you object to your character's intereactions being put into the storybook, you must object at that time.

    2. Who is the author of this story? -- If you play, then you're one of the authors. It might seem a bit odd, but this is a story that is pieced together from the efforts of many and then edited together into a narrative. There is no one "primary author," it is indeed a true communal effort.

    3. Why have a storybook? -- The online storybook is a great way for people to see what has been going on in TOT if they have been unable to make it to an official session. It is also a resource for newcomers who want to learn a bit more about the setting in detail.
