Members of our reunion group took this boatride.

Men used to lie on the boat and "walk" it though the narrowest tunnels. The horse was walked over the top of the hill or another horse was hired for the other side of the tunnel. I believe that may be Dave's daughter legging this boat. Polly is in this picture too.

A nice example of canal art by Clive Jones daughter.

Since the canal people couldn't afford a house they frequently painted a picture of a castle on the inside of the doors at the back of the boat. The Canal art theme is usually roses and castles as you can see in these pictures.

This swan was just one of many forms of wild life we encountered on our trip.
