What I learned
While writing my essay, "Unreal Expectations," I learned quite a bit about the topic and writing in general.
I learned that the "50 percent of all marriages fail" myth is not true. According to the Center for Disease Control, the true statistic is 43% of first marriages fail.
I learned that the divorces per year were in the 200 thousands in 1940, apposed to the over a million divorces in 1998, that is quite a rise.
I learned that the divorce rates rised and fell four quite a while, until the late 1960s, this is when the rates started climbing higher and higher.
I learned that gathering sources is much more difficlut than I had once thought.
I learned that writing essays that are more than three or four pages (as I was previously accustomed to) is very difficult, much more than I had hoped.
