The purpose of this source is to advise companies on the safety of their software. This source is important because it gave me information on how to stop pirating for my solution essay. It helped me by providing me with solid facts to base my solution on. This article just focused on piracy. "Chinese New Year." 9 May 2005. <www.chinapage.com> This source is another website. The source gives facts about the Chinese New Year, dates and the type of year, etc. The audience is probably people who do not know much about the Chinese New Year. This source is important because it gave me information about the current Chinese New Year. This source helped to provide a good culture basis. The source did not mention anything I had previously overlooked. China Daily. "Companies Fined for Pirating Software." China Daily. 10 May 2005. <www.chinadaily.com> This source is a newspaper article that was posted online. It had specific information about how some companies were pirating Microsoft software. The audience is any concerned person. It was important because I learned a lot from the site. It helped me because I used all of the info to make a point that software piracy is bad. The source provides information on China's current redistribution of income. The audience or purpose is to inform the Chinese about the reforms. This source is important because it gives valuable information about the Chinese economy. The source helped because it was good information for my paragraph. It gives info about the many environmental problems in China. The audience would be programs or governments who want to improve the environment. This is important because it was my main environmental page and gave me info for two essays. It helped by providing a lot of info. It allowed me to find other environmental problems within China. "China Says Deforestation Still a Major Environmental Problem." <www.waterconserve.com> 9 May 2005 This source is a website. It provided specific info about the problems with deforestation. The subject is probably any concerned environmental group. The source is important because deforestation was important for my essay. It helped because it gave key info about deforestation. It didn't alert me to any other areas I missed. CIA. "China." 2 May 2005 <www.ciagov/cia/punlications> This source is a government website. It has all of the basics about China such as economy, people etc. The audience is anyone who needs facts about a country. This source is important because it provided me with basic facts about China. It helped because I needed it for the environment and economy. It helped me to see areas where I had previously missed before. Dollar, David. "Is Globalization Good for Yourself?" World Health Organization. 9 May 2005. Pg 27 This was an interesting magazine article. It was about if globalization is actually good for your health, but I got some good info out of it. It provided with a good base to write the current status culture about. The audience is probably families or people who have an idea about globalization. This source is important because it allowed me to write my essay well. It helped me by giving me good info. It didn't alert me to anything else I could write about. Esler, Anthony. World History, Connections to Today. Upper Saddle River, Prentice Hall. 1997 This source is a textbook about world history. I focused mainly about the part on China. It gave great information about China's history. The audience is obviously students since it is a textbook. This source is important because it was my most used source. It helped me by giving good info on Chinese history, especially about the economy. It mentioned many economic events in Chinese history I didn't know about. Globalization101. If gives specific info about direct foreign investment, but it had info on the Chinese income which is what I used. The purpose of this document is to inform people about the economic situation in China. This source is important because it gave good info about the economy. It helped because I used a lot of the info to write a solid explanation about the Chinese economy. It didn't alert me to anything else though. The audience is any concerned group or person, just letting them know what its like. This source is important because it provides good information about Chinese holidays. It helped me because I wrote a lot of my holiday stuff based on this website. It was focused on holidays and didn't help me to anything other than that. Noi Sui, Goh. "English Craze Hits Chinese Language." Yale Global. 9 May 2005. This was a Yale newspaper article. It gave information about how the Chinese language is losing popularity to English. The audience is probably the Chinese, and warning them not to let English "take them over." This source is important because it let me know about how much English was having an impact over there. It helped me by giving me good info on the English epidemic. It didn't alert me to anything else. Chang, K.C. Food in Chinese Culture. New Haven. CT: Yale University Press. 1997 This source is a book on Chinese food. I focused mainly on the stuff I could understand. The book is mostly on how to prepare Chinese dishes but has some stuff on history. The purpose of this is to inform people about Chinese food. This source is important because I used food as part of my culture. It helped because I got a ton of info from this source. It stayed to food so didn't learn anything new. Lonely Planet. "China." 2 May 2005 <www.lonelyplanet.com/destinations> This source is a website much like the CIA website. I got basic info from here too. It is for the traveler wishing to go to another country. It is important because it is another basic info site where I learned basic geography and such. It helped me to learn more about China. The purpose was to inform someone about globalization who didn't previously know about it. This source is important because it helps people to understand globalization. It gave information on the Chinese economy and had some info on globalization. The audience is really just anyone. This source is important because it had good facts about the economy. It had information on Chinese culture and especially Confucianism. The audience is the normal reader. This source was important because it was one of the first culture sites I found. Berkely, California Press. © 1992 Pgs. 6, 10, 14 This source was a really good book. It had a whole lot of info on the Chinese economies history. It was meant for anyone who decided to read the book or didn't know about the Chinese economy before. It was important because I found some good stuff in the book. It helped me because it gave a lot of good information about the economy. It did alert me to some other economic areas which I researched later and found better info in other places. Shanghai Star. "Seeking Solutions to Pollution." Shanghai Star. 12 May 2005 <www.shanghaistar.com> This was a newspaper article that I found online. It had some great information on how some environmental groups are working to find solutions to the many pollution problems. The audience is anyone interested. I found this important because it was a good info source. It helped me by giving me info for another solution to the environmental problems. I didn't find anything else. Soon, K.V.
