Hows about Music. I think I'll start with music. Music has been a part of my life since the beginning. Starting with my mom in the church chior. My sisters and brother took paino lessons. From the time I started walking... till even now music has and will alwys stay a big part of my life. I took piano lessons when I reached the third Grade, until Fourth grade, when I finally realized that my music teacher really wasnt teaching me anything that I didnt already know. The lessons became boring and reptitive. So I quit. I found out that there were other instruments to learn and figure out, that were much easier. (I have small hands, and can only cross about a six key stretch on a piano) At the end of Fourth Grade, kids from the jr high orchestera came to play for us. I took one look at them, and was instantly hooked on stringed instruments. I begged my mom until she finally relented and let me start playing the cello. Why cello you ask? Because the tenor tones. I really did not like the squeakyness of the violin. I preffered the lower tones. After that year, I decided that It was too cumbersome to carry a cello back and forth 3 times a week just for lessons, and I decided to switch instruments again. This time I decided on the Viola. I really enjoyed the viola, even though you get the boring parts of the music when your viola. (most of the time anyway...) I would practice and practice till I drove everyone nuts. But unfortionatly that only lasted a year, and the next year my teacher wanted me back on Cello, where I ended up staying until graduation. Truthfully even though I preferred the Viola, the Cello had its own little things that I liked about it. The only instrument I have of my own is a Violin. My parents decided that it was time to have an instrument of my own. They did search for a cello, but up here in the boon docks its pretty hard to find a used one... let alone a brand new one. One of these years, I will have my own cello though. |
