Morbid God was formed by Tetragrammaton (bass), Langsuyar (vocals), Mantus (guitar) and Baalberith (drums). Later they were joined by a second guitarist, Fenrir. Their sound was heavily influenced by Venom, Bathory and Hellhammer. In 1992, following an invitation by MTM Records to be featured in the compilation double LP ‘The Birth of a Tragedy’, they recorded the promo track ‘Serpent Angel’. They were deeply into the Black Metal explosion that was going on in Europe at the time, with bands such as Samael, Root, Mayhem, etc. and this was reflected on the demo they recorded shortly after (having changed their name to Moonspell).
