Mystical Fate was formed in Setúbal, in 1995, by João Abraços (guitars, currently in Nephtys), and Nuno Carrilho, who were joined by João Paulo (bass), Ricardo Gonçalves (vocals) and Mário Pinto (keyboards). The style was melodic Black Metal and they played several gigs, including the 1st festival of Black Metal of Setúbal (with Eternal Mourning and Apheron, the latter no longer in existence). In 1997 their only recorded work was released, a demo entitled 'Evernal Storm Nocturn', recorded at the Clic Estudio in Coimbra, featuring five songs. By the end of 1999 a new guitarist came in, Nuno Gervásio. But in the winter of 2000 the band amiably split up, and the two guitar players went on to form Nephtys.
