DAVID CLARIDGE
THE ANCIENTS
David Claridge is a 26 year old actor who puts on ´nights´ . The ´Sixties Night´  at Legends was organised by David and he was there,  with his pile of records,  at the start of Billy´s  and  Blitz,  a little piqued (perhaps) because Steve Strange got all the publicity.
Now after appearing in a 16th century play in Nottingham and acquiring a taste for the ruffles and such,  hes running a 16th Century Night.  ´ It´s going to be slides and film and smoke guns and candles and ochre lighting.  Hopefully people will come along dressed in the appropriate clothes and we´ll include them in it, projecting them on the walls or in the film we´re making.
´ The music ? Oh,  choral,  organ,  stuff like Vivaldi.  The sort of music that´s never been covered in a discotheque before.´
As if this isn´t revolutionary enough, David has another idea for the night,  when people can just sity around and talk with only occasional snatches of the very latest eletronic music from such new and northem bands as Vice Versa,  Clock DVA and Bauhaus.
David´s night happens every Wednesday at Hell in Henrietta Street,  Covent Garden and it may - or may not make Regine´s any minute now.
