There are 14 planets in the Solor System. Nova Arcana is the 7th planet from the sun, Kaus Australis (not pictured), which lies in the constellation Sagittarius. It is not the biggest planet, but it is also not the smallest (Ireluna and Prix respectivly hold those distinctions.)

1. Magmus (mag-mus) -
Moons: 1 (Vulcan [vul-can])
Day: 113 Hours (1 rotaion on it's axis)
Year: 41 days (1 revolution of the sun)
Av. Temp: 977°C

The Planet: On Magmus, the blood-red planet, large mountian peaks poke out of oceans of magma generated by massive volcanic activity. There are few large, flat land masses. The biggest one discovered to date is only 560 Kilometers by 248 Kilomenters. For the most part, large oceans of magma cover almost 90% of the planet.

Upwards of 1,000°C, the extreme temperatures acheived on Magmus are due in most part to the constant volcanic eruptions. Some scientists estimate that the magma oceans are as deep as eight kilometers. They also agree that around 1,000 magma vents are erupting at any given time.

There is a ring of rocks and ice (a great contrast to the composition of the planet's surface) that orbits the planet and can be seen quite clearly with a telescope. These rings show up ice blue, which creates another great contrast to the blood-red color of the planet's magma.

The Moons: Magmus has a small moon. This moon, Vulcan, has only been studied briefly. This moon is probably a trapped comet or asteroid and it is indeed small; other observers speculate that it is very hot and may have volcanic activity like it's parent planet. What is known is that Vulcan is approximatly one third of the size of Magmus.

Vulcan orbits Magmus in such a way that the side of Nova Arcana that faces it is in daylight, making telescopes effectivly inneffective. There is only a 71 minute viewing window at dusk, at different times in the year, when Nova Arcanais close enough to Magmus to be able to observe Vulcan clearly.

2. Pentark (pen-tark) -
Moons: 0
Day: 37.8 hours
Year: 57 days
Av. Temp: 312°C

The Planet: The second-closest planet to the sun, Pentark, may have once been a moon of Nephthys. Pentark may have escaped orbit of Nephthys due to some cosmic collision, and found it's own orbit. Pentark is smaller than it's two neighbors, Magmus and Nephthys, and is around the size of one of the larger moons from Ireluna or Scentaro.

Pentark is desolate and barren. There are many crator marks where asteroids and commets have impacted it's surface. Other than that, it has no real features. It has no atmosphere, and gravity, like Earth's own moon, is scarce.

The Moons: Pentark has no known satelites.

3. Nephthys (nef-thees) -
Moons: 2 (Xia [zee-a] and Min [min])
Day: 28.2 hours
Year: 132 days
Av. Temp: 215°C

The Planet: Nepthys is a mysterious world; only every few months does a window of opportunity open up where scientists can view the planet's surface through telescopes.

Nephthys is covered in volcanoes; magma streams run endlessly. The planet is shrouded in gasses and poisonous clouds. The air is so toxic that if anyone where to breath in the atmosphere, they would be dead in milli-seconds. The air contains lethal doses of chlorine, carbon monoxide and nitrogen gases.

Violent windstorms swirl around the planet constantly, spreading the toxic air over every inch of the planet's surface. These same wind storms are as powerful as tornadoes and hurricanes, and can last for months or even years in the same spot.

The Moons: Nephthys' satelites are Xia and Min.

Xia is very large; it is about 1/3rd of Nephthys size, with erupting volcanoes and a CO atmosphere. It's lands are smooth from flow after flow of magma.

Min has no atmosphere, and is slightly smaller than Xia. It is almost the same size as Pentark, a possible escaped satelite of Nephthys. Min is heavily pock-marked, and has a long, jagged scar (not unlike a dry riverbed) running down part of it's most visible side.

4. Scentaro (cen-tar-oh) -
Moons: 9 confirmed (Puck [puck], Oberon [oh-ber-on], Titania [tih-tan-ya], Miranda [mer-and-ah], Ariel [air-re-el], Umbriel [um-bre-el], Cressidia [cres-id-ea], Hermione [her-my-on-e] & Goneril [gon-er-ill]); 1 awaiting confirmation
Day: 42 hours
Year: 411 days
Av Temp: 90°C-140°C

The Planet: Scentaro, chracterized by it's twin red rings, is pink through most telescopes. The rings rotate the same way, clock-wise.

Having a weak atmopshere, Scentaro has certain trace gas compounds present in it's atmosphere which probably give it it's pink coloring.

Many space probes have mapped Scentaro and it's ring system, including it's satelites. There are many channels running across Scentaro, which means it probably once contained water. Scentaro's average temperature is around boiling, so any water the planet may have contained most likely boiled away.

The Moons: Most of Scentaro's moons have an atmosphere. Three moons contain water.

Puck is around 13,000 KM in diameter. It has a varied atmosphere made up primarily of nitrogen but has other gases. It's surface is that of evaporated oceans; large canyons, hundreds of KMs wide (once probably filled with water) dot the landscape.

Oberon is around 18,500 KM in diameter. It is cloaked in black clouds most of the time. It's surface is flat and very smooth. It has an atmosphere made up of trace gases. There is a giant "spot" on the near-bottom of Oberon; this "spot" is a swirling tornado/hurricane like phenomenon which has been swirling for almost 90 years. Oberon is covered in large mountians and extinct volcanoes. In fact, only one has been known to have erupted since the moon was discovered.

Titania is a moon bigger than Nova Arcana! Titania has an atmosphere very close to that of Nova Arcana. It is around 20% covered in deep craters and wide gorges which are filled with water and ice. Flat land mases make up another 70% of the moon while and gigantic mountains finnish off the moon. At almost seven miles high, The largest mountian in the solar system, Antiquus Mons, is here on Titania.

Miranda is 17,000 km in diameter. It has small "pipes" of water (not more than three meters in diameter) which extend miles below the surface of the planet. These "pipes" carry mostly very hot sulfuric water, around 50°C-70°C. The land is dessolate with only these "pipes" and some small craters. These "pipes" are basically steram vents which create dense sulfuric water clouds which rain sulfuric water over the land. Nothing grows here.

Ariel is about 11,000 KM in diameter and has many comet/asteroid impact craters. It has a small gas atomosphere.

Umbriel, of the 9 moons of Scentaro, is the least understood. It is 11,700 KM in diameter and it rotates very slowly, and is a veritable billiard ball out in the middle of space. It is incredibly smooth, and has only one crater mark on it.

Cressidia is 14,000 KM in Diameter and not much else is known of the moon. There is no atmosphere.

Hermione, only slightly smaller than Titania, is covered in water. It has oceans galore! It's atmosphere is not unlike Nova Arcana's, though nothing is known to grow on this moon. It has rivers, lakes and oceans, and a habitable climate (so it is assumed). Algea and primitive cingle celled organisms are belived to live in the oceans.

Goneril, At 7,800 KM in diameter, is dessolate and barren; it has no water. It contains only many, many craters and pocket marks across it's face. It becomes very hot on the surface; CO and other unstable gases create an unstable, dense atmosphere.

5. Roscentia (ro-sen-chea) -
Moons: 4 (Amalthea [a-mal-thea], Synai [sigh-nigh], Pathos [pay-thos] & Creet [kreet])
Day: 42 hours
Year: 401 days
Av Temp: 90°C-140°C

The Planet: Roscentia has a very distinct atmosphere. It's air smells of roses, belive it or not!

In 1404, a probe was launched from Nova Arcana that landed a smaller probe on Roscentia. It gathered it's data (rock samples, atmosphere samples, maps of the landscape) and returned to Nova Arcana. (See pic Here.)

The Moons: Roscentia's Moons, unlike the planet, do not have an atomosphere, let alone a smell.

The smallest of Roscentia's moons is Amalthea. It is also the closest satelite to the planet. It is a barren dust bowl with very low gravity, about 1/16th of the planet. It is only 5,300 KM in diameter, and is a greenish blue color.

The moon Synai has a stronger gravity than Amalthea, about 1/10 that of the planet. The moon is colored red-orange, and is made up of iron-oxides, which give the moon it's color. The moon is bigger than Amalthea as well; it is 18,400 KM in diameter.

Pathos is the largest moon of Roscentia. It is 20,200 KM in diameter, and is made up a mixture of metals, shinning a weird blue color. The gravity on Pathos is very heavy; you could not walk on the moon for long periods without suffering severe injuries. In fact, probes sent to the moon were destroyed by the gravity within a few weeks after landing.

The last and furthest satelite from Roscentia is Creet. Not much is known of the moon as it orbits the planet in such a way that telescopes can hardly view it. Two probes sent to Roscentia managed to captured dozens of images of the moon and took some great readings. This data is still being examined, however.

6. Ireluna (eye-er-loo-nah) -
Moons: 13 (Presidio [press-id-eo], Andromeda [an-drom-id-ah], Misery Mire [miz-er-e my-er], Bell Isle [bell eye-l], Bella Luna [bell-ah loo-nah], Copernicus [cuh-pern-ih-cus], Magnolia [mag-no-lee-ah] & Mayflower [may-flower], Saturnus [saturn-us])
Day: 25 hours
Year: 390 days
Av. Temp: 20°C

Ireluna, the emerald planet, is the largest in the Solar System. and is the only other planet known to contain large, mammalian life forms. (Some other moons are theorized to contain bacteria-like single celled life-forms.) It is covered with a dense, swampy fog, thick swampy marsh-like grounds, and many swamp-like creatures.

Because of certain chemicals given off by it's think, dense foliage,Ireluna's atmosphere is a very deep green color.

Ireluna also contains some normal forests with creatures like that of Earth forests. Most of the planet is made up of swampy marsh lands with mangroves as far as the eye could see.

The Moons: There are a 7. Nova Arcana (no-vah are-can-ah) -
Moons: 2 ()
Day: 24 hours
Year: 365.25 days
Av. Temp: 17.31°C

8. Idrica (er-rid-ic-ah) -
Moons: 9 (Suisei [soo-say], Kinsei [kin-say], Tsuchi [soo-ch-ee], Kasei [ka-say], Mokusei [mo-koo-say], Dosei [do-say], Tennousei [ten-oo-say]; Kaiousei [ky-oo-say (rimes with why)] Meiousei [may-oo-say])
9. Ares (air-ez) -

10. Shadow Luna (shah-doe loo-nah) -
Shadowluna, the dark planet, is dark and mysterious. The surface of the planet has never been viewed, never mind mapped. One thing is known about it, how ever: it does contain water.

11. Antios (ant-e-os) -

12. Isis (eye-sis) -

13. Argon (are-gone) -

14. Prix (pricks) -
