Hodsalls of Kent

Thomas Hodsoll was buried 17 Aug 1553 (Ref. 1). He had 3 sons, the eldest was William and the youngest John. The second son's name is not recorded. Bold print shows the descent from Thomas Hodsoll to Charles Maxfield Hodsoll

Hester was the daughter of Henry Seyliard, gentleman, of Ightham. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Gratwick, gentleman, of Cowfield and she was the widow of John Hodsoll, Gentleman, of Shermonbury, Sussex

          2. John Hodsoll m. (1) 1683, Elizabeth Saunders, m. (2) 1683, Anne Dummell. Aged 25 in 1683 so he was born c. 1658. There is no mention of Elizabeth in 1663, and she probably died in 1683, year of marriage, as John remarried that year. She was the daughter of Robert Saunders, Gentleman, of Maidstone. There is no mention of Anne in either 1663 or 1710.
