Angel ran to Giles’ house.  Giles answered the door just as he was putting his glasses back on.

"Angel, is everything all right?"

And Angel sobbed. Giles’ face contorted. "What happened? Are you okay? Where’s Buffy?" Giles looked behind Angel.

"She’s gone, Giles. A group of vampire’s took her. We need to do something and quick! Call Willow and Xander, we’re going to get Buffy back."

Giles nodded and ran to the phone. Angel cleared his throat. Giles rolled his eyes.

"Come in, Angel!" Angel walked into the apartment, and continued to
pace.

The Present

She could swear on their eternal lives that they got stupider everyday. They made little mistakes, like leaving the door open too long, or taking too long to close it. Everything was working toward her advantage, and she would be the first to admit that she had been waiting a damn long time. But it was worth it. It would all be worth it just to watch them die. The door opened and Telsan, the guard in charge of Buffy, walked in the room. She smiled. He gave her a threatening look.

"Watch yourself, Slayer. You give me one wrong look, and I’ll kill you."

Buffy laughed coldly, and sauntered a few steps closer to Telsan. Telsan looked at her with nervous eyes. She breathed on his face. He shivered.

"If there’s one thing I’ve learned, Telsan, it’s that you shouldn’t mess with Slayers who don’t care if they die or not." Telsan’s eyes widened as she grabbed his head and snapped his neck. He fell to the floor in a pile of dust. Buffy cocked her head to the side.

"See, I told you so." Three other vampires rushed into the room, and Buffy killed them with Slayer speed and ease. She was a machine, they should have never let her train. They were so stupid. She ran down the hall to a door, which opened. Daylight flowed into the room, and Buffy quickly shut her eyes. She almost hissed. It was bright, so damn bright. She walked out of the building letting her eyes adjust to the light. The sky, it was blue, and had soft white clouds. She cried. She was free.

But they would be after her, and she had to hurry. Buffy ran the 15 measly blocks to her house. She looked up at it. She had been so close. So very close. How could she have been so close, and yet so far away? She opened the door, and walked in. A woman looked at Buffy like she was crazy.

"Excuse me, do I know you?" the woman asked, looking frightened.  Buffy flexed a hand into a tight fist. Buffy looked around the house, everything was different. She looked at her own appearance in a mirror by the door. Her reflection was disturbing. She almost cried.

"Sorry, I accidently...sorry!" her voice choked in her throat. She ran out of the house, and down to Giles'. She pounded on the door. "Giles!" she  hoarsely yelped. The door opened, and Giles looked at her in  shock. At least he stayed in one place.

"Buffy? You’re alive! Oh, my God! I thought you were dead. Oh, God, Buffy!" Giles hugged her tightly. She looked up to the sky, tears streaming down her face. Thank you, God, thank you. They began to cry. Giles touched her face, committing every groove to memory. Her face was scarred now; he didn’t remember the scars.

"I love you Buffy!"  he whispered. Buffy looked at him with a dirtied face. Everything would be okay. She knew it, Giles was alive, and everything would be okay.

The Past

Giles looked up at Angel who face was a panicked ghost of the former, brooding Angel. This worried Giles. They needed Angel to be strong, to fight. Giles took off his glasses and began to repetitively clean them.

Willow opened the door to Giles’ house. Angel stood to his feet."So, what are we going to do?" Willow asked. Angel looked to Giles, who stared back.

"Lets do a sweep of the sewers, we’ll go check Willy’s for information, and you can read up on any group of vampires that might what to harm or kidnap a Slayer."

Willow raised her hand.

"Willow, you’re not in school, you don’t have to raise your hand." Giles shook his head.

"Yes, Willow?" Angel impatiently said.

"Doesn’t that describe, like, every vampire in the world?"

Angel and Giles seemed to be considering this. They looked at each other, Giles rolled his eyes. "Good point," they simultaneously said.

The Present

Angel burst into the room. His face was unshaven, and he was still in his pyjamas. Buffy smiled. Giles was still holding her hand, hoping somehow that she wasn’t just an apparition. Angel’s eyes watered slightly as he looked at her tired, and disarrayed body. He was breaking down. When Giles had called his house he was barely able to drive."Buffy," he affectionately whispered. She collapsed on to the floor. She was tired, so tired. "Are you okay?" Angel stupidly asked as he bent down to help her up. She kindly looked up at him.

"Where is my mother, Willow, and Xander? What happened to everybody?" Giles touched Buffy’s shoulder and she whipped her head around to look into his eyes.
